KING KONG REVIEWED

First of all, Happy New Year to all who follow my blog. This should be an exciting and adventurous year for me and I hope it is for all of you as well.
Had the pleasure to view the new blockbuster epic "KING KONG" on New Year's Day. The special effects were quite amazing. The conematography truly captured the essense of New York City in the 1930's. Even the fonts that were used in the credits were the same as those used in those classic films of yesteryear. The movie itself was long, over three houres long. The first forty minutes or so kind of dragged but eventually picked up. The lead role was played by Jack Black who is more suited to playing comedy roles rather than a leading character in such a huge picture. He just seemed out of place in some scenes. Naomi Watts is beautiful to look at and she surely is talented. If she were facing such horror and drama in real life, I'm sure she would have been scared to death. Watts didn't seem frightened enough to be believable. The other actors, including Oscar winner Adrien Brody, were great in their roles and together they carried the picture. I really enjoyed the film as a whole and it will definitely generate interest with the Motion Picture Academy. I give it three stars for a great try.
